Technology in Learning Environment

Using technology in classroom
Technology, if appropriately used, can surely facilitate the learning process by providing time efficiency, flexibility, and keeping the learner’s attention in the process. Using inspiration can help you plan and keep you focused on designing the learning content. It acts like a road map for the instructional designer. PowerPoint can be used to create interesting, interactive learning content and can also be used for evaluations. Blogs can help facilitate the discussion and interaction among the learners especially in the E-learning.

Pros and cons of using technology in the classroom
Although technology can help the learning process in classroom but we have to be mindful of two things while using technology in the classroom. First is that the technology should be used only as much as it is required for the specific instruction or topic. Second not all activities or learning goals can be achieved by using technology. As an instructional designer one should keep this balance.

Using technology in my area
I can use the technology in instruction design, to create face to face and online learning content. I can use inspiration to create story boards, PowerPoint to deliver content, game board to use as an activity and also for evaluation, and blogs to provide learners an opportunity to share and discuss ideas.

Using blogs or wikis or other web 2.0 tools in your learning environment
Wikis and blogs can be used in classrooms to provide an opportunity to discuss specific issues and share each other’s experiences. These tools can also be used effectively in online learning, where they can help in enhancing learning through sharing and also creating a social environment to offset the effect of isolation commonly felt in online learning.
